VH Berlin and COVID-19 effects

Dear VH members and clients, the current developments  of the COVID-19 situation and the public regulations in place have an effect on the VH Berlin services as well. Laboratory: Currently we are operating our laboratories while taking all necessary precautionary measures to ensure the safety of our lab personell as well as our clients.  Please send tracking codes/delivery notifications in advance to yeastlab@vh-berlin.org as well. Accounting: Office works currently from home partially, in part time due to additional child care responsibilities. The processing of your inquiries may take longer than normal.

Announcement: 1st VHOYC Online Yeast Conference

Due to the current developments of the COVID-19 situation and the public regulations, the VH advisory board and Dr. Quantz have decided to cancel the 33rd VHYC 2020 which was supposed to be held in Berlin. Instead, we are pleased to announce the 1st VHOYC (VH Online Yeast Conference) which will take place in September 2020. We would like to welcome you as participants or lecturers. The web conference date will be ~September 14-15, 2020, more details and a registration form will be available from May on the conference web page as well. Thank you for your understanding and patience – we look forward to welcome you to our 1st VHOYC!

No baker’s yeast shortages!

(Bonn, GER – March 26, 2020) Yeast is very popular nowadays, shelves in the super markets are empty often. The German Association of Yeast Producers (Deutscher Verband der Hefeindustrie e.V.) has provided a press release, stating that there are no production shortages and that the logistics for the retail market are expected to catch up again soon.
